AE-101 is designed for those with minimum or no previous experience. It is a 6-week course that covers basic audio engineering concepts designed to equip students for their first step toward a professional audio engineering and production career. All of the AE-101 course will be held inside of a recording studio with hands-on and instructor-led training. It includes 5 hours of lecture, 5 hours of practice and lab work (in-studio) per week.
AE-201 is a 40-week advanced level series of courses that covers audio engineering concepts. It provides an intensive, in-studio hands-on curriculum designed to prepare aspiring audio engineers. These classes also would be appropriate for graduates of the AE-101 course as well as those who may already work in the audio engineering field but, need further instruction and training for career advancement. It includes 5 hours of lecture, 5 hours of practice and lab work (in-studio) per week.
AE-201L course will cover audio engineering concepts for a live performance venue. You will learn skills that a mix engineer needs to manage live sound in a variety of settings, from relatively straight-forward podium work to concert show. Advance your knowledge in one of the music industry’s main growth areas. AE-201L course will be held at local theatres throughout the city of Detroit.
The cost of Audio Engineers of Detroit Program includes expenses such as textbooks, manuals, media, production materials, lab fees, technology fees and also provides students with a laptop computer and music creation software.
